1. General provisions
Ling AI Mate is a service for language practice using artificial intelligence, available through the website and Telegram.
By using the Ling AI Mate website, following a link from the website to the bot, or continuing to use the service, the user confirms that they have read these Rules, understand them and accept their terms.
If the user does not agree with the Rules, they must stop using the website and the service.
Where the law requires separate consent for a particular form of data processing, that consent is requested separately — for example, through a button, checkbox or another explicit action.
2. Purpose of the service
Ling AI Mate is intended for learning and practising foreign languages.
Replies, translations, corrections and explanations are generated automatically using artificial intelligence and are provided solely for educational and informational purposes.
Generated materials may contain inaccuracies, language errors or fabricated information. They are not professional advice, information guaranteed to be reliable or instructions for actions in real life.
The user independently verifies important information using reliable sources.
3. Data processed
Depending on the features used, the service may process:
- the user's Telegram identifier;
- the name or nickname provided by the user;
- the registration date;
- selected languages and proficiency levels;
- profile settings and learning preferences;
- information about the plan and internal balance;
- user messages and artificial intelligence replies;
- conversation and word-analysis history;
- voice messages and recognised text when voice features are used;
- feedback and error reports;
- IP address, device and browser type, date and time of access, referring pages and other technical data automatically generated during website use;
- technical log data needed for security, error diagnosis and stable operation of the service.
The service does not ask users to provide passport details, payment details, passwords, medical information or other confidential information.
4. Purposes of processing
Data is processed for:
- user registration and identification;
- providing website and bot features;
- adapting learning settings to the user's language and level;
- generating replies, translations, corrections and explanations;
- speech recognition, pronunciation checking and speech synthesis;
- saving settings and learning history;
- recording the plan and available balance;
- handling feedback and enquiries;
- detecting errors, preventing abuse and ensuring security;
- complying with applicable legal requirements.
5. Transfer to external services
To generate replies, the request text, the necessary part of the conversation history, the name provided by the user and learning settings may be sent to the external artificial intelligence provider DeepSeek.
When voice features are used, audio recordings or text may be sent to Microsoft Azure Speech for speech recognition, pronunciation assessment and speech synthesis.
When the bot is used, messages pass through the Telegram platform.
Technical data may also be processed by hosting, database and other infrastructure providers needed to operate the service.
External services process the data they receive under their own rules and policies. Deleting a Ling AI Mate profile does not automatically delete copies already sent to those services.
The website uses Yandex Metrica for visit statistics and analysis of visitor actions, including clicks to Telegram. Session Replay and click maps are enabled: data about page views, referral sources, devices and browsers, page interactions and session recordings may be collected. Metrica may use cookies. Data is sent to Yandex and processed under its terms and privacy policy.
Metrica and Session Replay load only after you select “Accept” in the cookie banner. You can decline without restricting website features or change your choice through “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page. Your choice is stored in this browser’s localStorage for 180 days. Withdrawal stops further collection on the website but does not automatically delete data already sent to Yandex.
6. Retention periods
Conversation history and word-analysis history are cached for up to 7 days from the most recent save. New messages may reset this period.
The number of stored messages is limited, so older messages may be deleted earlier.
The user profile, settings, feedback and error reports may be stored until the user or service administrator deletes the profile.
Text for repeated speech synthesis and audio recording identifiers may be cached temporarily. Retention depends on the feature used and the service's technical settings.
Technical logs may contain user identifiers and service event information. They are deleted as logs rotate, which depends on their size rather than necessarily on a fixed number of days.
If the administrator temporarily enables content logging for diagnosis, the text of incoming messages, recognised speech and outgoing replies may be recorded in technical logs. Such logging is disabled by default.
Certain information may be kept longer where necessary to comply with legal requirements, resolve disputes or ensure service security.
7. Data deletion
Users can delete their profile through the bot settings.
When a profile is deleted, the following data accessible to Ling AI Mate is deleted:
- the user profile;
- learning settings;
- saved history and conversation state;
- related feedback and error reports.
Deleting a profile does not delete conversations remaining in Telegram and does not guarantee immediate deletion of information from backups, technical logs or external providers' systems.
8. User rights
Users may:
- request information about the processing of their data;
- request correction of inaccurate data;
- request data deletion;
- withdraw previously given consent where processing is based on consent;
- stop using the service.
Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. Some data may continue to be stored where another lawful basis exists.
Users can submit requests through the bot's help section.
9. User obligations
Users must not send the following through the service:
- passwords and access codes;
- bank card and payment details;
- identity documents;
- confidential, medical or other sensitive information;
- other people's personal data without a lawful basis;
- unlawful materials.
Fictional names and examples are recommended for language practice.
10. Liability
The service is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee the absolute accuracy, completeness or currency of artificial intelligence replies.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is not liable for errors in automatically generated materials or the consequences of their use.
This provision does not restrict user rights or service liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
11. Changes to the Rules
The Rules may be updated when the service's operation changes, new providers are added or legal requirements change.
The current version is published on this page with its update date. Continued use of the service after a new version is published constitutes acceptance of the updated Rules.
